More tempting temples to explore

Now I’m not really an early morning guy, but when my alarm went off at 4:30am I swung my hooves out of bed and got ready to set off for a special treat – to watch the sun coming up over Angkor Wat.

As you wander around Bayon Temple you get the feeling that you are being watched – and so you are!  There are huge stones faces looking down at you from all angles.

I couldn’t help wondering what they were smiling about – some mysterious joke from the distant past?

Later in the day we headed off to the outlying temples.  My  favourite was Ta Som – with its grand structures in semi-ruin where the strangler figs are slowly claiming back the jungle.
